Luxury Advisor tip

  • The luxury hotels are located within three central areas of Athens city center; Syntagma (Constitution) Square, Plaka, the old historical quarter and Kolonaki, a cosmopolitan, posh district beneath Lykavitos Hill.
  • The Plaka is within easy walking distance from Syntagma Square (5 minutes) Kolonaki (15 minutes) and is,
  • without a doubt, the most graphic area of Athens. With its pretty winding streets filled with souvenir shops, outdoor cafes and restaurants, the Plaka offers an olde worlde ambience.
  • The Acropolis, which is perched above the Plaka in all her splendor, can be viewed in awe from every cobbled street corner.
  • The Athenian Riviera is located 30 to 40 minutes away and if you require a hotel during your transit flight to Mykonos or Santorini, the deluxe Astir Palace Complex is the place to enjoy the beach and the sea air. Alternatively, we recommend the Sofitel Airport Hotel which is just opposite the airport entrance and very convenient.

Luxury Advisor tip:

The daily budget is almost half price of the islands and it is preferable to stay at a 4* hotel in order to have more money at your disposal for the island’s luxury hotels. After all, Athens is a city rich in culture, which you will want to explore! The best 5* hotels are Grande Bretagne, King George and the Astir Complex, should you wish a more extravagant option.

If you want to stay at the upscale hotels, you should consider spending 120-250 Euros per night for the entry level, such as a double or a junior suite and 250-400 Euros for the superior suites. If your budget allows, the special and more private suites and verandas will be at your disposal.
