Although its name suggests otherwise, the Aquila Rithymna Beach hotel is not that close to Rithymno itself, however it is located very near a main road lined with shops, cafes, bars and the occasional restaurant, making this a great hotel for people who don't want to travel too far for a glimpse of local life. We do recommend that you rent a car for at least some of your visit, as Crete is a big place with plenty to explore, however staying here will be a good compromise for the time you don't have your own transport.

However, a stay at the Aquila Rithymna Beach is not like a stay at a 30 room boutique hotel, as you could stay here for a week and still not feel bored by the facilities. This comes from having a more than 500 rooms to its name and thanks to a very family-friendly atmosphere, it probably shouldn't be your first choice if you're looking for total relaxation and pampering. This isn't to say the service is second rate, far from it, as the staff and management are clearly very proud of their hotel and they conduct themselves in a way which reflects this. You'll certainly not be left wanting when it comes to attention here!

But what if you're not? Is the hotel 'suitable for adults'? Of course it is! The key to the kids enjoyment is that their 'fun' is contained in their own area, rather than creating their own area around the pool or worse, the restaurant! Therefore it's quite simple to avoid that part of the hotel and only see a child when it is with its parents - and likely exhausted after a tiring day!

The hotel is located next to a very attractive stretch of Cretan coastline, with sunbeds and unbrellas on the sand ready and waiting for you. While on the beach there are various water sports to enjoy, plus a diving school too. There is a fitness centre inside the hotel along with the chance to book your own massage and beauty treatments. If you prefer the pool to the beach, the Rithymna Beach's is stunning! With its freeform design, wooden bridges and palm trees, the main pool is like a little oasis, and with a several other smaller pools dotted around the grounds, you won't be jostling for a prime spot.

There is a large choice of room type available too, with the majority of rooms benefitting from a sea view as well as plenty of bed options for you and your family. The Rithymna Beach has an excellent reputation, offers good service and is located in a convenient spot, plus with its extensive children's animation program, we have no hesitation in calling the hotel the number one deluxe family destination on the island.
