The hotel is built right on the waterfront, so access to their sandy beach and the sea is easy. Sunbeds and parasols line the water's edge ready for you to enjoy the Cretan sun, however with two outdoor pools and an indoor heated one, you may be tempted to stay close to the hotel on some occasions! For a more active holiday, The Kalliston provides a gymnastics class in the morning along with aerobics later in the day - both free of charge - plus a fitness room and various water sports if you don't mind paying a little extra. Like other Grecotel properties, an Elixir Spa is where one can go to experience a wide variety of beauty and relaxation therapies.

With its relatively small room count, the choice of differing room types is smaller too. When deciding, we highly recommend selecting one with sea view, as the Kalliston's main road location does mean the garden view option invariably comes with a view of the road too. An unavoidable consequence of its convenient positioning, but thankfully easily avoided should you wish. Decor is modern but with fewer unique stylistic touches than one would find at say, Cape Sounio, and this continues throughout the Double Room and Junior Suite classes. Moving up to the Executive Suite sees a slight change, but it's the size of the room which varies the most. Finally, the VIP Suite has an attractive beachfront location and its own private pool.

When it comes to dining, the town of Chania has many great restaurants to seek out, but to reach then you'll have to take a taxi or bus, however there are several options next to The Grecotel Kalliston, along with their own restaurants too. If you choose to dine at the hotel, the Deep Blue is where you'll find breakfast and dinner, plus a weekly theme night, and the Gialos overlooks the swimming pool and serves Mediterranean dishes a la carte.
