At the far end of the bay and after a short walk up the slight hill you'll find the Mykonos Deliades hotel (if you're finding it without the help of a local, beware as the sign is written in Greek letters, so we suggest familiarization via their website first) a traditional whitewashed collection of buildings, accented by subtle earth tones, creams and exposed stonework. Peaceful and secluded, the Deliades hotel is ideal for those wishing to spend sometime away from the famed Mykonos nightlife, but still close enough to enjoy it if the mood takes them.

With just over thirty rooms, the Deliades hotel is never what one would call crowded, which again, suits its ambience. The rooms are not separated by confusing amounts of different categories, but simply by how good the view is and if you select one of the newly built rooms higher up the hillside; the view over Ornos bay and out across the Aegean is very good indeed. These new rooms are more modern than the traditional originals and while not what we would label luxurious, they are nicely furnished, often have wooden beamed ceilings and some welcome touches such as on-demand TV.

An American-style breakfast is served in the breakfast room, the extremely pleasant pool and sun terrace make for a perfect afternoon's lazing and there is a restaurant for the evening, so if you would prefer not to, there is no need to leave the hotel. If you feel like being a little more active, not only is the area a wonderful spot for a stroll, the Deliades hotel has a gym too.

The staff are friendly and the manager really is a proper hotelier; he knows his business and appreciates exactly how to please his guests. The Mykonos Deliades hotel may not have the same 'look-at-me' decor as many other Mykonos hotels, it does have a homely charm and maintains a high quality feel throughout, making it perfect for guests who don't want to attend a fashion show at breakfast everyday, but still make the most of Mykonos.
