Seeing as Mykonos Town is where the majority of the clubs, bars and restaurants are located, staying somewhere nearby is essential if you want to take full advantage of the glittering nightlife that this effervescent island is known for. Equally, if you like a bit of nightlife, wouldn't it be great if your hotel had its own slice of Mykonian fun too? By selecting the Mykonos View hotel, you'll get the best of both worlds.

Standing off the main coast road which runs into town and built up the side of the cliff, the elevated position of the Mykonos View hotel blesses it with fantastic views of the harbour, the old town and out across the Aegean. This is best experienced from the Oniro Bar, one meeting place with a degree of fame throughout the town. Standing inside it perhaps doesn't seem much different from any other, with its bar and simple but stylish furniture, however, once the doors have been flung wide open at sunset, and you walk out on the huge veranda, you'll instantly understand what makes the Oniro so special. Regardless of the size of the veranda (and it's big), it's the spectacular panoramic view which will remain with you long after you've left. The Oniro Bar is one of the places to gather in Mykonos Town, making it great to have on your doorstep!

But, the centre of town will always beckon, and when it does it's just a moments walk until you're there. This close proximity to the town makes up for the lack of a proper restaurant at the Mykonos View hotel, as you're never far away from the many which are spread around the narrow winding paths of Mykonos Town. At the bar you can order various snacks throughout the day, and the little breakfast nook is cosy and shares that great view – perfect for starting your morning!

You can look at the Mykonos View hotel like a little self-contained village, as aside from a dedicated restaurant; there is everything one would need. The 30 apartments are mostly self-catering, so anyone wanting to prepare their own food can do, plus you have a gorgeous pool with an adjacent pool bar. There is even a tiny chapel! Designed with character, the apartments feel far more homely than one would expect, especially when there are so many traditional touches such as the 'natural air conditioning' window formation found in several.

Characterful is also a good description for the staff, who are so friendly, welcoming and open, it's easy to think you're staying in a friends home rather than a hotel. However, this doesn't equate to the service being overbearing, instead it's very relaxed – something in keeping with the rest of the Mykonos View. Although it couldn't be described as luxurious – there are no thousand pound bed sheets or pretense here – it is luxurious when you take into consideration the service, location and the superb Oniro Bar. So, if you came to Mykonos to have a good time, why not start it at the Mykonos View
