Here as some hints and tips for your perfect private cruise: Your cruise always starts from the small port of Vlyhada a hidden cove half a mile behind the volcanic basin. At first you will cruise along Akrotiri which is the south tip of the volcanic caldera, the unique red and white beaches which are colored from the volcanic rocks it can be your first stop for a dive into their waters.

“Palea kameni” is a small island created from the many eruption of the inactive volcano which is next to it. This lava spot is famous for its rejuvenating hot springs; your captain of course knows how to avoid the crowds which are gathered and he will revel his secret spot, if you want to enjoy this experience. Next to it there is also the White island with a unique beach overlooking the volcano.

The volcano is just opposite and is not really a recommend site simple because there is nothing to see there, it looks much more interesting from your balcony but not at close. Although if geology is your passion, then your captain can moor for as long as you wish.

The closest inhabiting island from Santorini is Thirasia, located just opposite and it use to be part of the old Santorini before the volcanic eruption. Even though that is just 10 min boat ride away from one of the most cosmopolitan place in earth there no touristy development neither hotels just few taverns offering truly traditional Greek cuisine and fresh fishes on the grill.

The small ports of Fira and especially Amoudi are highly recommended for their positioning and views. Amoudi is the port of Oia which is the best spot on the island to enjoy its famous romantic sunsets also recommended for its 4 beautiful taverns which offer the best sea food on the island.
